In 1966 golf was beginning to boom in the Pacific Northwest and there weren’t enough golf courses to supply the demand for golf. Dave Richards and his father Gordon “Gordy” Richards had recently finished developing the back nine at Wayne Golf Course, in Bothell, and were looking for potential sites for new courses. This hunt led them out east of the city of Snohomish to a large 200 acre dairy farm perched atop Dutch Hill.
